Terms of Service

1. What Mietto Is
Mietto is a rent management platform that lets landlords and tenants track rent payments, upload proof-of-payment receipts, and maintain a shared payment history. Mietto is a record-keeping tool — it does not process, hold, or transfer any money. Actual rent payments take place directly between landlord and tenant outside of this platform.
2. Eligibility
- ▸You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- ▸You must provide accurate and truthful information when registering.
- ▸One person may not hold multiple accounts for the same role (landlord or tenant) unless otherwise permitted.
- ▸Accounts registered on behalf of a company or legal entity must be authorised by that entity.
3. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately at support@mietto.app if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account. Mietto is not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised access due to your failure to safeguard your credentials.
4. Landlord Responsibilities
- ▸Landlords must only add properties they legally own or manage.
- ▸Invitation links must only be sent to the actual tenants of the listed property.
- ▸Landlords are responsible for reviewing and accurately approving or rejecting payment submissions. A rejection reason should be provided.
- ▸Landlords must not use the platform to misrepresent payment statuses or fabricate records.
5. Tenant Responsibilities
- ▸Tenants must only upload genuine, unaltered proof-of-payment documents for payments actually made.
- ▸Submitting forged or manipulated receipts constitutes fraud and may result in immediate account termination and potential legal action.
- ▸Tenants must keep their contact email up to date. For email changes, contact support@mietto.app.
6. Uploaded Content
By uploading a file to Mietto you confirm that:
- ▸You have the right to share it.
- ▸It does not contain malicious code, personal data of third parties beyond what is necessary, or illegal content.
- ▸It accurately represents the transaction it relates to.
Accepted file types: PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG. Maximum size: 5 MB. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.
7. Prohibited Uses
You may not use Mietto to:
- ▸Upload or distribute unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful content.
- ▸Attempt to access other users' accounts or data without authorisation.
- ▸Reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the platform.
- ▸Use the service in any way that violates applicable law, including EU data protection regulations.
8. Service Availability (Beta)
Mietto is currently in beta.
The service is provided free of charge during the beta period. We make no guarantees of uptime, data persistence, or feature availability. Features may change, be removed, or the service may be temporarily interrupted without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate the relationship at any time:
- ▸You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account.
- ▸We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or pose a security risk to other users.
Upon account deletion, your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy (Section 4 — Data Retention).
10. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
Mietto is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- ▸We are not liable for any disputes between landlords and tenants regarding the rental agreement itself.
- ▸We are not liable for loss of data, loss of income, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the service.
- ▸Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Mietto shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, during the free beta period, is €0).
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and the national laws of [your country — e.g. Greece / Germany]. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [your city / jurisdiction], without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under applicable EU consumer protection law.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the new terms take effect. Continued use of Mietto after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
